Starting point
The truck list lives in a spreadsheet, not in the CMS
One website has to cover Promlift's new and used forklift sales, parts, servicing and rental. Each of these sections needs its own content layout, and the machine catalogue changes most often. The list of available trucks is kept in an Excel spreadsheet, so copying every item into the CMS by hand would take time and easily leave the sheet and the site out of step. Next to the catalogue sits the “Informacje” section, the company blog, which has to be easy for search engines to read. The site uses the same design system as the websites of the other IMMOBILE group companies, yet it has to work as a sales catalogue for businesses looking for a specific machine.
What we did
Neos modules that import trucks from Excel
We built the site on Neos and the group's shared design system, then added what a company selling machines needs on top.
- 1
The group design system, fitted to a catalogue
Promlift uses the same components as the IMMOBILE, CDI and Atrem websites, so fixes to shared elements are made once for the whole group. To that set we added the parts only this site needs: forklift cards, listings split into new and used machines, and separate sections for servicing and rental.
- 2
Importing trucks from an Excel file
We wrote dedicated Neos modules that read the forklift offer from an Excel spreadsheet. The data in the file becomes machine pages without anyone retyping it into the CMS. The spreadsheet stays the single source of truth for the offer, and the site shows whatever it contains.
- 3
Editing content on the page preview
Everything else, from the servicing description to the rental offer, is edited in Neos directly on the page preview. We set the components up so that a new page or post gets the right layout and design system styles straight away, without a developer needed for each change.
- 4
Technical groundwork for search
The “Informacje” section now holds 32 articles. We made sure posts and offer pages have a clear heading and URL structure, consistent templates and complete sitemap entries. The templates are light, so pages load quickly on phones too and search engines get clean markup.
Outcome
New trucks go from the spreadsheet straight to the site
Updating the offer no longer means retyping data into the CMS: the Excel spreadsheet goes through the import and machine pages are built from it. The site runs on the group's shared design system, so components and fixes we make for other companies can land here too without being rebuilt. The sitemap now covers 51 URLs, including 32 articles in the “Informacje” section. We have been developing the site continuously since 2021.
- We maintain and extend the Excel import modules
- We keep Neos and the group design system components up to date
- We develop the templates for the offer, servicing and rental sections
